Divine Mercy
The church became a reality due to the untiring and combined efforts of the Faithful of Anna Nagar, Rev Sr. Mary Theodore O.A.M. of “MITHRA”, Rev Fr. Michael Raj, SSP and the support of Society of St Paul, India. Rev. Fr Michael Raj, who pioneered the efforts, recalls that the entire planning, construction of the church and its dedication to the Divine Mercy were nothing less than a miracle. The church carries the blessed relics of St. Faustina who was guided by God to begin the devotion to the Divine Mercy, and Blessed James Alberione the founder of Society of St. Paul on either side of the altar. A grotto to honour our blessed Mother Mary was constructed, blessed and dedicated to the people by Rev. Jose Pottayil.SSP, Vicar General, Rome, on October 1st 2004. The feast of Divine Mercy is celebrated every year, Sunday after Easter. The powerful novena to the Divine Mercy is conducted on Fridays at 3pm in Tamil Language.
